Health and safety
Raw Days coaching is fitness coaching, not medical care. Take the readiness check below before you start, and read when to stop.
Not medical advice
Everything on rawdays.com and everything a Raw Days coach writes for you is general fitness information. It isn't a diagnosis, treatment, or a replacement for advice from your doctor, physical therapist or dietitian. Coaches are certified fitness professionals, not medical providers.
- Coaches can train around pain. They can't tell you what's causing it.
- Coaches give general nutrition guidance. Meal plans for a medical condition, such as diabetes, kidney disease or an eating disorder, come from a registered dietitian.
- If you're under a doctor's care, follow their advice where it differs from ours, and tell your coach.
The readiness check
Eight yes-or-no questions. Your answers stay in this browser; nothing is sent to us. Members answer the same questions before their plan starts.
8 to go
Answer every question to see what to do next.
This check is a short screen, not a medical assessment. For the full, validated questionnaire, see the PAR-Q+ at eparmedx.com.
Stop and get help
Stop training straight away and call 911 if you get chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your arm, jaw or back, severe shortness of breath, fainting or near-fainting, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or sudden weakness, numbness or confusion.
Stop the exercise and tell your coach if you get sharp pain, pain that changes how you move, or pain that's still there the next day. See a doctor or physical therapist if it doesn't settle.
Your part
- Answer the readiness check honestly and update your coach when anything changes: a new injury, a new medicine, pregnancy.
- Warm up, use weights you can control, and stop sets with good form. Your coach's numbers are a starting point; you decide on the day.
- Train somewhere safe, with equipment in good condition. Check that a door anchor, bench or pull-up bar can take your weight.
- Exercise carries some risk of injury. By training with Raw Days, you accept that risk for the exercise you choose to do.
Pregnancy and postpartum
Many people can keep training through pregnancy and return afterwards. Get your doctor's or midwife's go-ahead first, tell your coach, and expect the plan to change as you go. Coaches who list pregnancy and postpartum as a specialty will say so on their profile.
Massage
In-home sports massage is planned, not available. When it opens, it will be given by Florida licensed massage therapists and is for recovery, not treatment of an injury. Read more on the recovery page.
